Tom (TK) Kohler

Varsity Head Cocah

Coach TK grew up in New Jersey and began playing volleyball as a freshman at East Brunswick High School (2001-2005), where he quickly fell in love with the sport.  He was part of the varsity team that won the 2003 NJSIAA State Championship and went on to start as a middle blocker on the 2004 State Championship winning team.

He continued his career at Ramapo College of New Jersey (2005-2009), competing in the Molten Division III Final Four and earning All-Molten Tournament Team honors as a senior.  A passionate beach player, he began entering AVP Tour Qualifiers in 2007 and later reached the professional level, qualifying for the 2013 Manhattan Beach Open and finishing 25th with partner Matt Hilling.  His beach career highlights included a 9th-place finish at the National Volleyball League (NVL) Preakness in Baltimore, Maryland and multiple career-best 17th finishes on the AVP tour.

Coach TK's coaching background includes serving as the men's assistant coach at New Jersey City University and as a graduate assistant for the Fairleigh Dickinson University women's program, at which time he also earned a Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities.

In California, he has led the volleyball programs at San Juan Hills High School (2013-2017), winning a league title in 2014, and at Capistrano Valley High School (2019-2022).  He currently works as an Education Specialist at Dana Hills High School and is in his first year as head coach.

Nathan Casasola

Assistant Varsity Coach

Originally from Fullerton, CA, Coach Nathan has played high-level volleyball for four years, earning multiple championships.  He began his volleyball journey in high school, quickly establishing himself as a dedicated and passionate player.

While excelling on the court, Coach Nathan also stood out academically and through community involvement, volunteering at his local church and participating in various clubs.  He is currently pursuing a career in nuclear medicine at Saddleback College, with plans to transfer to Loma Linda Medical School in the next two years.

As a key player for Sunny Hills High School, Nathaniel helped lead his team to a CIF Southern Section Championship and three consecutive league championships  He also competed with Pulse Athletics Club and contributed as an assistant for both his high school JV and club practices.

Now residing in Dana Point, CA, Coach Nathan continues to share his love of volleyball through coaching, assisting with Doho Beach Volleyball Club, Dana Hills High School, and 949 Athletics.

Scott Simpson

Junior Varsity Head Coach

Originally from San Clemente, Coach Scott grew up playing volleyball at San Clemente High School.  He went on to attend UC Santa Barbara, where he earned his degree in History.  Scott now teaches AP Microeconomics at Beckman High School in Irvine.

From 2005-2009, Scott served as the Head Coach at Foothill High School, leading the program to two Sea View League Championships.  He currently coaches at Dana Hills High School, where he will serve as the JV coach for the 2026 season.

Why Scott loves to coach: "Seeing the growth, improvement, and development of players is one of the things I enjoy most about coaching.  I also love to compete."

Aryan Rasoolian

Freshmen-Sophomore Head Coach

Coach Aryan is a graduate from CVCS and currently a first year student at UC Irvine pursuing a degree in Medicine.  With five years of playing experience, he has built strong teamwork skills, resilience, and the ability to adapt quickly in competitive environments.  Coach Aryan takes pride in being reliable, hardworking, and always eager to learn.  Outside of school and sports, he enjoys staying active, spending time at the beach playing volleyball, and connecting with positive, energetic people.  "I am excited to bring that same dedication to Dana Hills."
