Hudson's Season-High 15 Kills Lead Dolphins to 3-0 Sweep at CVCS
The Dolphins continued their winning streak on Friday evening with a strong road performance, defeating Capistrano Valley Christian School in straight sets, 3–0 (25–22, 25–22, 25–18).
Leading the offensive attack was Grant Hudson, who delivered a season-high 15 kills to pace the Dolphins. Hudson’s consistent play at the net helped the team control key moments in the first two tightly contested sets.
The Dolphins also dominated defensively at the net. Preston Spruill recorded 5 blocks, while Noah Lubbers added 4 blocks, helping slow down the CVCS offense and shift momentum during crucial rallies.
From the service line, Nolan Mundy led the charge with 4 aces, putting pressure on the CVCS passers and helping the Dolphins build scoring runs throughout the match.
With the win, the Dolphins extend their current winning streak and continue to build momentum as the season progresses.
The Dolphins will return to action next Tuesday on the road against Tesoro, with first serve scheduled for 5:45 p.m..

Dolphin's Win Streak Snapped in 3-0 Loss to Tesoro
The Dana Hills boys volleyball team saw its winning streak come to an end Tuesday night with a 3–0 loss to Tesoro in non-league action.
The Dolphins were led offensively by Ben Hammerman with 9 kills, while Nolan Mundy contributed 2 aces from the service line.
Dana Hills will look to bounce back this week as they open league play at home. The Dolphins return to the court Thursday, March 12, hosting Capistrano Valley in their first league match of the season. First serve is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. at Dana Hills High School.
Dolphin's Defeat Capistrano Valley 3-0
The Dana Hills Dolphins earned a milestone victory Wednesday night, defeating league opponent Capistrano Valley in straight sets 3–0 (25–17, 25–25, 25–19) to secure the program’s first league win since 2023.
The Dolphins set the tone early with strong defense and balanced offensive play, controlling the tempo throughout much of the match. Middle blocker Carlos Caudillo led the attack at the net, recording 8 kills while also anchoring the defense with 4 blocks.
From the service line, Grand Hudson helped apply pressure on Capistrano Valley with 2 aces, while Eli Brooks and Brody DaPena each added an ace of their own to keep momentum on the Dolphins’ side.
The Dolphins return to action Tuesday, March 17 at 6:15 PM when they host El Toro at Dana Hills High School.

The Dolphins secured a strong 3–0 win over El Toro in second-round league play on Tuesday night, taking the match in straight sets: 25–16, 25–18, 25–13.
Offensively, the Dolphins were led by Ben Hammerman, who recorded 10 kills while hitting an outstanding .670 on the night. Carlos Caudillo added 7 kills and 2 blocks, finishing the match hitting .640.
The Dolphins maintained momentum throughout the contest, displaying efficient attacking and consistent execution across all three sets.
The team returns to action on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. with a road matchup at JSerra for a non-league contest.
Dolphins Rally Past JSerra After Early Setback, Set Sights on Tournament Play
The Dolphins showed resilience and composure Tuesday night, bouncing back from an opening-set loss to JSerra in four games.
JSerra came out aggressive and caught the Dolphins off guard early, taking Game 1 in decisive fashion, 25-11. The Dolphins regrouped quickly, however, responding with a gritty 28-26 win in Game 2 that shifted the momentum of the match.
From there, the Dolphins settled into their rhythm, executing efficiently on both sides of the ball. They claimed Game 3, 25-18, before closing out the match with a 25-19 victory in Game 4.
Offensively, Ben Hammerman led the way with 14 kills, providing a consistent scoring presence throughout the comeback. Evan Weiss played a key role behind the scenes, delivering strong, steady passing and applying pressure from the service line to keep JSerra on their heels. Grand Hudson contributed 11 kills and 4 solo blocks.
After an early stumble, the Dolphins responded with poise and control, turning a one-sided start into a confident four-set win.
The Dolphins will look to carry that momentum into tournament play this Friday as they travel to Santiago High School, where they are set to face Diamond Ranch and Nuview Bridge.
Dolphins Battle Back to Secure Fourth Place at Santiago Tournament
The Dolphins competed in a competitive field this weekend at the Santiago Tournament, finishing in fourth place after a series of hard-fought matches and a resilient push through bracket play.
On Friday, the Dolphins opened tournament play with a tough loss to Diamond Ranch in straight sets (0-2). They responded quickly with a strong showing against NuView Bridge, earning a decisive 2-0 victory to close out the day on a positive note.
Continuing into Saturday’s action, the Dolphins secured a key crossover win against Hillcrest, building momentum heading into bracket play. However, they faced a setback against Murrieta Valley, falling short in a competitive matchup 23-25, 23-25. Next, the team defeated El Dorado 2-0 to secure a spot in the tournament's gold bracket consolation match.
They finished the day facing off against Diamond Ranch for a second time, and in a strong turnaround performance, the Dolphins were able to avenge their earlier loss, closing the tournament on a high note by defeating Diamond Ranch in three games (23-25, 25-21, 15-11).
With the win, the Dolphins will return to action against league opponent San Juan Hills on Tuesday 3/24 at 5:45pm.

Defensively, Evan Weiss anchored the back row with 9 digs, helping the Dolphins control Pacifica Christian’s attacks and transition into offense.
With the win, the Dolphins continue to build momentum as they head into their next matchup. The team will return to action Friday at 4:00 PM on the road against CVCS.
Dolphins Split Matches, Fall 2-1 to Mission Viejo Before Rebounding with 2-0 Win Over San Marino at Tesoro Tournament
The Dolphins battled through a competitive evening of volleyball action, opening with a hard-fought three-set loss to Mission Viejo, 25–21, 19–25, 11–15.
Preston Spruill led the serving campaign with two aces, helping apply consistent pressure from the service line. Offensively, Noah Lubbers recorded five kills while hitting an impressive .850 for the match.
The Dolphins quickly regrouped and responded with a strong straight-sets victory over San Marino, 25–20, 25–21. Eli Brooks and Grant Hudson each contributed two aces to fuel the team’s momentum. The offensive charge was led by Ben Hammerman with five kills, followed closely by Grant Hudson with four kills, as the Dolphins maintained control throughout the match.
The Dolphins return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Estancia for a 5:00 p.m. road match.
Dolphins Rally for 2-0 Win Over Aliso Niguel at Tesoro Tournament
After a tough morning loss at the Tesoro Tournament to Downey, the Dolphins rallied in the afternoon to secure a 2-0 victory over Aliso Niguel.
Leading the charge was Grant Hudson, who tallied 7 kills and 2 aces, while Noah Lubbers added 4 kills and 5 blocks to help the team to victory.
The Dolphins return to action on Monday, facing Mission Viejo in the semi-final of the Silver Bracket at Tesoro High School, with the match scheduled for 4:00 PM.
Hammerman, DaPena Lead Dolphins in Key Wins at Foothill Tournament
The Dolphins faced a challenging Friday at the Foothill Tournament but demonstrated determination and grit throughout. They opened against JSerra, taking the first set 25-22 before dropping the next two 18-25 and 10-15. The team then fell 0-2 to host Foothill. Bouncing back, the Dolphins earned a 2-1 victory over Western Christian (Upland), led by 13 kills from Ben Hammerman and 7 from Brody DaPena.
While a 0-2 loss to Sunny Hills in the Silver Bracket tested the team, they redeemed themselves by closing the day Saturday on a high note with a 2-0 win over Crean Lutheran.
The Dolphins (2-5) will next face Sage Hill away at 5:15pm on Tuesday 2/24.
